"It’s not a bad experience overall, honestly..."
It’s not a bad experience overall, honestly. I was able to get through it, and some parts were fine, but the accessibility could definitely be better. A few things felt clunky and harder to use than they needed to be. Still, it’s okay, I guess, just kind of annoying in spots.

"Useful if you start with real feedback"
This can definitely help, but it works best when you give it actual feedback to begin with. If you put in something vague, you’ll probably get something vague back. Common-sense stuff, but when you start with real comments or examples, the results are much more useful.

"Actually a helpful textbook"
The pages were clear and easy to follow, and the material was useful for class. Nothing too fancy, but it did the job and helped me keep up...

"Decent for homework, but it can get frustrating"
Tophat works fine for homework most of the time, but it can be annoying. Sometimes the questions take a while to load, or they don’t seem to save right away, which is stressful when a deadline is coming up. I do like that it keeps everything in one place. I guess, what I mean is, it’s useful, but the interface can feel a little clunky. Not the worst thing ever, just frustrating at the wrong moments

"Decent when it works, but the glitches are frustrating"
tophat is okay most of the time, but I’ve had a few classes where the page froze or my answers didn’t save, which is annoying when you’re trying to keep up. I also ended up waiting in a queue at one point just to get help, and that made the whole thing feel even more frustrating. It’s not the worst, but it definitely gets on my nerves sometimes.

"I’ve been using Top Hat mostly to keep..."
I’ve been using Top Hat mostly to keep all my course stuff in one place, and it’s been reliable overall. Uploading slides, readings, and quizzes is easy enough, and students can usually find what they need without asking me about it over and over.
The only thing I’d say is that the layout can feel a little clunky when I’m moving content around. It’s not a huge problem, just takes a few extra clicks sometimes. Overall, it’s been a good tool for managing my classes.

"Worked fine, but the renewal part threw me off"
The plans themselves worked okay, so that part wasn’t really the issue. I just got a little confused when it came to the renewal info—like, I thought I understood it, then started clicking around and realized I wasn’t totally sure what was going to happen next. Not a huge problem, but it could definitely be clearer...

"Attendance tracking works, but could be clearer"
It does the job for tracking attendance, but I’ve run into a few glitches here and there. I also expected the instructions to be a bit clearer, especially when getting started. Overall, it’s okay, just could use some polish

"Gradebook sync was painless"
The grades synced over real easy, no drama at all. saved me a bunch of time
"Student setup was mostly painless"
Getting started was easy overall, which was a nice surprise. The class code part threw me off for a minute because apparently entering a code should feel like solving a tiny mystery, but I figured it out eventually

"I use Top Hat for one of my..."
I use Top Hat for one of my classes, and the mobile app can be frustrating. It’ll freeze right when I’m trying to answer a question, or take forever to load the attendance check-in, which is not ideal when the professor is already moving on. I’ve had to restart the app a few times in the middle of lecture, and I remember one time I was staring at the loading screen while someone two rows ahead was peeling an orange super loudly. The website seems to work better for me, so I usually trust that more. The app isn’t completely unusable, but it definitely needs some work.

"I’ve been using it for a bit and..."
I’ve been using it for a bit and it’s easy to use. I was going to say it’s perfect, but actually, I’ll just say it’s been good overall. No major issues so far.

"LMS setup was easier than I expected"
We’re using Top Hat with our LMS, the setup was a lot smoother than I figured it would be. I’ve dealt with enough “simple integrations” that somehow turn into a whole project, so I was kind of waiting for something to go sideways.
Grades sync back without me having to keep chasing spreadsheets, and students can get to everything from the course page, which cuts down on the usual confusion. There was one small issue with a section not showing correctly, and I’m not totally convinced that wasn’t something on the LMS side, but support jumped in quickly and got it sorted.
Overall, it’s been a real time-saver week to week. It’s not absolutely perfect, but compared with some other systems that seem to make integration harder than it needs to be, this has been solid.

"Pretty easy, but why so clunky sometimes??"
tophat has been easy to use overall, especially after I figured out where everything is. Joining a class and answering questions is straightforward, so I didn’t really have any major issues there.
That said, some of the menus still feel a little confusing. I definitely had a few moments where I was clicking around like, where are my grades?? Where did that old activity go?? It also loaded slowly for me a couple of times, which was kind of annoying.
Overall, it’s not bad and it gets the job done. I just think it could be a bit cleaner and easier to navigate, because why make simple stuff feel harder than it needs to be??
"Makes quick class check-ins a lot easier"
I’ve been using Top Hat for quick quizzes and little in-class assessments, usually right after I’ve had my coffee and everyone’s still settling in. Overall, it’s been easy to work with. Students can answer quickly on their phones or laptops, and I can tell almost immediately if the class is actually getting the material or if I need to slow down and go over it again. It’s not flawless every single time, but for the most part it’s saved me a lot of time and made those small check-ins way less of a hassle
"Decent for quick class polls, but a little frustrating"
I’ve mainly used Top Hat for quick polls during class, and for the most part it does the job. It makes lectures a bit more interactive and less boring, which I appreciate. That said, the app can be slow to load at times, and when that happens it’s kind of annoying because it feels like the issue gets brushed off like it’s no big deal. Overall, it’s easy enough to use and does what I need, but I wish the small glitches were taken a little more seriously.

"My students actually participate now"
Tophat has made my classes feel a lot less quiet, and awkward. Students are answering more, joining in more often, and just seem way more interested in the lessons than they used to.

"Helpful for class, but a little frustrating at times"
Top Hat was useful in my class for quick polls, quizzes, and attendance. Since participation counted, it definitely made me pay closer attention, even if I was mostly tuning in when I knew a question or check-in was coming up.
The annoying part was that the app could be slow sometimes, and I had a few moments where joining the session was more of a hassle than it should’ve been. It wasn’t terrible, but it’s not something I’d say I genuinely enjoyed using either.

"Works fine, but I only remember the price hurting"
Tophat does what it’s supposed to for class stuff, and I can see why professors use it. I don’t remember having any huge issues with it, mostly just logging in for quizzes or attendance and moving on. What I do remember is feeling like it cost more than it should for how much I actually used it. Some parts were useful, sure, but if your class only uses the basics, it doesn’t feel like the best value. Not a bad tool, I just wish there was a cheaper student option.
"I wasn’t expecting much at first..."
I wasn’t expecting much at first, but Tophat has actually been really dependable for my classes. I haven’t had to deal with random crashes or weird issues, which was a pleasant surprise.
